Neil Findlay, MSP for the Lothian Region, this week joined WASPI women (Women Against State Pension Inequality) in a demonstration outside of the Scottish Parliament with campaigners who were demanding for a better deal for Scotland’s pensioners.
In raising the state pension age for women, it left those born in the 1950s little time to make transitional arrangements and plans for their retirement.
Women who attended this demonstration told Neil Findlay MSP about how this has affected their lives.
Local MSP Neil Findlay said:
“The WASPI women have suffered a real injustice as a result of this nasty Tory policy. Pensioners across Scotland deserve our respect and dignity as they grow older and this starts with a fairer pension. I express total solidarity with the WASPI women and their fight for justice on this issue”
