Today, Monday 1st October 2018, Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) launched a digital platform that will be used to nominate and elect volunteers for voluntary opportunities in West Lothian.
FSB is a member-led organisation which represents various small businesses and self-employed across the UK.
This new online platform will make it easier for people to self-nominate so that members, who have vast experience of running a small business, are elected to volunteer office-holder positions.
FSB is hopeful that, nationally, this new digital platform will attract volunteers from every business and industry, making the volunteer community more diverse and inclusive.
Neil Findlay said:
“This brand new digital platform, which will allow members to nominate and vote for FSB members standing for voluntary positions, shows that FSB is a truly democratic institution.
FSB is a grassroots organisation that is run by, and for, the small business community. This fantastic initiative will ensure that members, who have in-depth, first-hand experience of the real issues and challenges faced by small businesses and self-employed people , are in a position to make positive and tangible changes to local and national policy”
Online nominations open on 1 October and close on 22 October. Online voting for all local volunteer opportunities will open on 12 November and will close on 3 December.
