Local MSP Neil Findlay this week visited Pinewood Residential Care Home in Livingston.
Run by the Leonard Cheshire charity, which is committed to helping people with disabilities live independently, the facility is located in Deans and holds six en-suite bedrooms that can be designed and decorated for each occupants needs.
Pinewood has a communal lounge, kitchen, dining room and two quiet rooms for residents to hang out in either by themselves or with visitors and other residents.
Almost 25% of adults in West Lothian in 2016 had some form of limiting long-term physical or mental health condition.
Neil Findlay said:
“Pinewood supports people in West Lothian with physical disabilities to live as independently as possible in a very homely setting.
I was very grateful for the opportunity to speak to residents and visit their home. The staff here are a credit to our community”
