First Scotland East are proposing major changes to bus services across their West Lothian network.
Many members of the public have expressed concern that it amounts to cutting services and reducing the number of stops routes take in.
These changes will hit passengers across Lothian also.
Some of the proposed changes include:
– Reduced frequency to Fauldhouse West Calder (every 30 mins)
– Sunday only direct link to Asda Armadale/Tippethill Hospital/Whitburn.
– Many areas no longer directly linked to Bathgate, having to change at Livingston Terminal instead.
Local MSP Neil Findlay said:
“I am writing to First Bus and I will be meeting their management soon to raise these issues as quickly as possible. There is a lot of concern locally and this issue needs to be dealt with directly.
“I am asking constituents to email me to raise their concerns so I can put these across on your behalf and defend the bus service that the people of West Lothian need.
“We can see the chaos that has happened with the trains in Northern England of late, we can’t allow similar cuts to cause havoc here.”
