Local MSP ‘Enquires’ About Additional Education Needs

The Organisation ‘Enquire’ was in the Scottish Parliament last week advising MSP’s of the work they do with local communities and families.

Local MSP, Neil Findlay, heard how they support school pupils who have additional learning needs. Additional support for learning applies to children with long-term learning difficulties or disabilities but children can need support for many other reasons including:

◦Difficulty in controlling behaviour

◦Missing school because of an illness or long-term condition

◦Having a physical disability

◦Being a young carer

◦Communication difficulties

◦Being particularly able

◦Changing school a lot

◦Being looked after or in care

◦Having a difficult family situation

◦Suffering a bereavement

◦Being bullied

 Neil Findlay MSP said:

I was delighted to meet with ‘Enquire’, they are an excellent organisation providing a brilliant service to young people in need of additional help at school.

‘Enquire’ coming to Parliament reminded me of the importance of their service, it is vital that people know they offer the services that they do and that importantly they utilise the service if their children need it.
