The Livi Living Wage
Livingston is the fast food capital of Scotland.
McArthur Glen and the Centre employs hundreds of retail and hospitality workers – many of whom are subject to precarious working conditions.
I released a survey with 100 respondents which highlighted unpaid trial shifts, poverty pay and 0 hour contracts as the most prominent issues.
I also carried out a day of action, alongside activists from Better than Zero and the Labour Party, where we distributed information about the benefits of the Real Living Wage to employers which you can find here
Labour pledges to implement a £10.00 an hour minimum wage to prevent in-work poverty and the use of food banks.
I want to ensure that every retail and hospitality employer signs up to Unite’s Fair Hospitality. Read more about it here
