Lothian MSP Neil Findlay has voiced his support for World First Aid Day on Saturday 12th September.
The British Red Cross have stressed the importance of first aid and the importance of people feeling confident enough to perform it and act quickly in an emergency.
New research from Opinium and the British Red Cross has found that amid Covid-19 lockdown restrictions, over half of all parents have had to deal with a first aid emergency at home. It was concerning that; a third of parents surveyed stated that they would not know how to help their child in an emergency at home.
Local MSP Neil Findlay is encouraging his constituents to download the British Red Cross app, designed to work even when internet connections are unavailable, and will guide the user through emergencies, as well as providing training and games. “We should all have some understanding of how to respond in an emergency. That is why I support World First Aid Day to raise awareness of the importance of First Aid.
