Scottish Hazards has provided a free and confidential helpline for non-unionised care home workers across Scotland.
The helpline should be utilised by care home workers who need advice on healthy and safety issues at work. It comes as care homes across Scotland have seen a large volume of coronavirus cases.
Care home workers with any reservations about health and safety practices in their workplace should contact Scottish Hazards on 0800 0015 022, or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org for advice and support.
Labour MSP, Neil Findlay MSP said:
“I welcome this fantastic new resource that can be used by care home workers who need advice on matters relating to health and safety at work.
“Care homes have been disproportionately exposed to coronavirus with many care workers and residents contracting the virus over the past few months with many tragically dying as a result.
“I would urge any of my constituents who work in a care home to make use of this if and when they need to.”
