Children’s charity CHAS is continuing to support families of very sick children throughout the COVID-19 crisis.

For families with children who are terminally ill, self-isolation can be tremendously difficult and lonely. CHAS has sought to make this time more manageable by launching the first ever virtual children’s hospice. This means that if children are unable to travel to a hospice, then the hospice will come to them.

As part of the project, children and families can access support, money advice; advice stress relief and take part in story-telling sessions and online art clubs.

CHAS recently launched the ‘Share your Joy’ campaign to support children and families during this difficult time [1].

You can get involved by:

  • Email your message of support to children and families by visiting www.chas.org.uk/joy and encourage others to share too by sharing on social media using #ShareYourJoy
  • Share/re-tweet the video from Ewan McGregor in support of our CHAS, which will be posted on our SupportCHAS social media platforms Friday 24 April midday – you can also find it here: https://youtu.be/_kFOnhHKLvM
  • Wear any kind of geeky T-shirt (or if you have one, a CHAS T-shirt), take a selfie and share on social media using the #MayThe4thBeWithCHAS and encourage others to join – if you are able to, you could even include the link to how people can sign up https://www.chas.org.uk/events/geeky-t-shirt-day-2020

Labour MSP, Neil Findlay MSP said:

“CHAS has continued to support some of the most vulnerable children and families during this exceptionally difficult time in their lives, made even more worrying by a global pandemic. They deserve a tremendous amount of recognition for the fantastic of work that they do. Please give them your support”
