NHS Lothian have announced that £3.96 capital funding has been allocated to expand the Emergency Department (ED) at St John’s Hospital.
The plans, which include upgrading facilities and redesigning the existing space, will enable staff to manage rising patient demand.
Local MSP Neil Findlay has welcomed these plans.
Neil Findlay MSP said:
“I welcome the decision from NHS Lothian to expand the emergency department at St John’s. Population in West Lothian is growing and we need health services that can meet demand.
“Investment in our NHS is vital but should not stop here. The Scottish Government should act now to invest in all areas of our health service.
