Local MSP Neil Findlay last week joined West Lothian College lecturers on the picket line as they continue their campaign for a fair pay deal.
The MSP showed solidarity with members of the EIS-FELA trade union who went on a two-day strike last week over their ongoing dispute over pay.
The EIS maintains that this dispute is only in relation to an unfair and inadequate pay offer, however Colleges Scotland have argued that the dispute also affects conditions of service – an allegation that the EIS refutes.
Neil Findlay MSP said:
“I am fully behind those college lecturers striking for a fairer pay deal that matches the cost of living. It is only right that the Scottish Government intervenes urgently, to help negotiate a satisfactory pay rise, and to break the deadlock.
