Local MSP Neil Findlay supported Scottish Hazard’s pledge to support International Workers Memorial Day, which will take place on 28th April this year .
Scottish Hazards campaigns for workplaces that are both safe and healthy. With an estimated 10 people dying each day as a result of work-related illnesses and incidents, international workers memorial day is a chance to remember those who have died, and campaign for better health and safety standards both in Scotland and across the world.
Neil Findlay MSP said:
“No one should be subject to hazardous working conditions that risks or damages their health.
“Tragically, even in 2019, we are still seeing people dying as a result of poor health and safety at work.
“I will be marking International Workers Memorial Day by attending the annual memorial service at Bathgate Sports Centre on Sunday 28th April at 12.30 pm. Everyone is welcome. Please come along and join me to remember the dead and fight for the living.
