Lothian MSP Neil Findlay marked Purple Friday by joining other MSPs in showing his support for the LGBT community.
February is LGBT history month and this year the theme is CATALYST: 50 Years of Activism. The theme marks 50 years since the Stonewall uprisings in United States whereby members of the LGBT community fought for equality, in addition to the beginnings of the modern Pride movement.
Local MSP, Neil Findlay, has joined LGBT Youth Scotland in calling for a continuation of positive change, and progress, for the LGBT community in the future.
Neil Findlay MSP said:
“I give my full support to Purple Friday and to the work that LGBT Youth Scotland does every day to promote positive changes for the LGBT community in schools, workplaces and communities across Scotland.
“This year’s ‘Catalyst’ theme is particularly pertinent in recognising that we all have an active role to play in making sure that we strive for equality both now and in the future.
“We must all be catalysts for positive change.
