Neil Findlay MSP met with representatives from Genetic Alliance UK in the Scottish Parliament last week to discuss how they help to improve the lives, and futures, of those living with genetic conditions.
Genetic Alliance UK was formed to help improve the lives of patients and families affected by genetic conditions by working collaboratively with organisations to ensure that their needs are prioritised.
Local MSP Neil Findlay has voiced his support for the continuation of the UKs involvement in European Reference Networks (ERNs) which connect patients, clinicians and researchers across Europe.
ERNs ensure that specialist knowledge is shared and could result in positive outcomes for patients with genetic conditions.
Neil Findlay MSP said:
“I was delighted to meet with representatives from Genetic Alliance UK to discuss how we make a positive difference to the lives of patients and families affected.
“It is fundamental to the diagnosis, treatment and understanding of rare, genetic conditions that the UK continues its involvement in European Reference Networks (ERNs) that are so critical for sharing specialist knowledge and research.“I would like to thank Genetic Alliance UK for giving me their time.”
