Last week, Neil Findlay MSP, joined Scotland Manager Alex McLeish, and Hibs Legend Micky Weir, to at an event hosted by ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ at the Scottish Parliament.
Show Racism the Red Card is one of the UK’s leading anti-racism educational charities. The charity conducts various training sessions, as well as using football and footballers, to achieve their goal of eradicating racism from society .
Charity organisers, alongside Alex McLeish and Micky Weir, met with MSPs ahead of ‘Wear Red Day’ on Friday 5th October. “Wear red day” encourages schools and workplaces across the country to wear an item of red clothing and donate £1 that will go towards anti-racism education for young people.

“Show Racism the Red Card has done, and continues to, do fantastic, and innovative educational work to tackle the scourge of racism in society. By conducting training in schools and local communities, organisations like Show Racism the Red Card have a vital role to play in changing attitudes for the better.
The involvement of high profile figures like Alex McLeish and Micky Weir will greatly assist in the fight against racism. I wish the charity the best of luck on “Wear it Red Day” which takes place tomorrow.”
